The 2011 Gamla Nature Nebbiolo displays raspberry, blackberry and sour cherry fruit notes layered with characters of flowers and chocolate, rounded out by hints of juniper, fresh herbs and French oak. This attractive medium-bodied wine exhibits a bit of structure and a pleasing finish. The 2011 Gamla Nature Nebbiolo is produced entirely from grapes grown in our single Nebbiolo block planted in 2000 within the Odem Vineyard at an elevation of just under 1,200 meters (3,900 feet). Hailing from Piedmont in the northwestern corner of Italy, the Nebbiolo variety is used to make the region’s acclaimed Barolo and Barbaresco wines. Produced in very small quantities, the Gamla Nature Nebbiolo aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
